Lately, ive been roaming the super market for new and delicious on-the-go snacks. I needed to find things that could be nutrionally good but satisfying that didnt need to be kept fresh like fruit and veggies. I was skeptical about going into the cracker,chips and sweets isles, but needless to say there are many options that are just as healthy for all occasions. Also, im going to share with you some fresh snacks for when your home and needing a little sweet or salty treat. Here are a few favorites ive been trying out in the past few months that i really enjoy.
Special K Multigrain Crackers – These are perfect! 24 crackers have 120 cals and low in fat. They have a similar taste to sweet Maria cookies, but a great solo snack or to accompany a meal. You can eat these crackers with Hillshire Farms Turkey Breast and Laughing Cow Cheese Wedges for a complete and fast treat.
Orville’s 100 Calorie Smart Pop Popcorn Bags are fantastic because the bag seems endless! When you feel like munching on something salty, go for these bags. The porportions are already made and 1 bag is more than enough! I usually snack on these bags when watching a movie or reading a magazine!
Almonds – Almonds or any nut in general are very nutritional and delicious! They keep you full for a long time and have many essential fats the body needs. Almonds can be eaten inside of Fage’s Greek Yogurt or Quakers Lower Sugar Oatmeal. Even dark chocolate covered almonds ae heart healthy and satisfactory to your sweet and salty tooth.
100% Whole Wheat Bread with Hillshire Farms Turkey Breast and Laughing Cow Cheese Wedges is also another very filling snack. I usually eat this after the gym and toast them like paninis. I use 1 wedge for 2 slices and 6 slices for each sandwich. Its also a very complete meal because it has protein, carbs, calcium and healthy fats!
Dried figs, Cranberries, Bluberries, Raisins Etc – This is definitely one of my new obbsessions! They are so sweet and natural yet taste like candy to me! They treat my sweet tooth perfectly and are very nutrional! you have to make sure that no added artificial juices are added though!
Fage’s Greek Yogurt is a delicious meal with added toppings like almond, granola, fruit, seeds, or cinnamon. They come in many different flavors and are extremely fast and on-the-go
Special K Chocolately Delight Cereal is just woniderful! with little chunks of dark chocolate and a hint honey, it feels like your cheating! I usually snack on this cereal alone, but be careful and serve yourself first, it can be addictive!!
