Healthy Recipe – Tortilla Pizza 3 Ways

This is a quick,easy and healthy recipe that can be enjoyed at any time of the day! It can be salty or sweet but always delicious!

Im going to show you how to use a tortilla to make a classic pizza, a PB & J banana pizza, and a breakfast pizza. They all have the same base and ingredients can be mixed and matched as well. 

Classic Tortilla Pizza

-1 (whole wheat) 10″ Tortilla

– 2 Tbs of tomato sauce (natural) or slices of fresh tomato

– 1/2 cup of choice of cheese (low moisture/fat)

(mexican blend or mozzarella is the best! )

– pepporoni or ham cubes (by choice)

Preparation :

First turn on the oven and preheat to about 350 degrees. While the oven warms, smear the tomato sauce from edge to edge. Make sure to spread it well and do not leave to much sauce in one area. Then sprinkle the cheese on the top and add any other desired ingredients such as mushrooms, basil, pepporoni or ham.

Next place the tortilla in the oven for about 10 minutes. Make sure to keep an eye on the pizza. When the cheese is melted and bubbling, turn off the oven and let the tortilla cool for about 5 minutes. The tortilla should now be a hard shell. Split the tortilla into 4 equal sections. Sprinkle some parmesan cheese if desired and eat away!!

PB & J Banana Pizza

-1 (whole wheat) 10″ Tortilla

– 2 Tbs of Natural peanut butter

– 1 Tbs of 100% natural jelly

– 1 Banana

– 1/4 cup of Shredded coconut

– powdered sugar if desired

Preparation : 

First heat up a tortilla in the oven at 350 degrees for about 5-1o minutes. Have ingredients ready to spread on warm tortilla. Microwave the peanut butter for about 10 seconds to let it smooth out. It will be easier to spread. Take the tortilla out but leave the oven on. When the tortilla is hot and crispy, gentry spread the peanut butter on it. Then drizzle the jelly in circles like a bullseye. Slice the banana into thin pieces an place on top of the tortilla. Then addd shredded coconut and powdered sugar.

Replace the tortilla back in the oven for only two minutes. This will allow banana to soften and PB & J to mix. Enjoy !!

Breakfast Pizza

-1 (whole wheat) 10″ Tortilla

 -1 1/2 Tbs of Pesto

-1 egg

– 3 pieces of deli ham or turkey breast

– handful of spinach

– salt and pepper

Preparation :

Have the oven preheated to about 400 degrees. Place a tortilla on a baking sheet and have all ingredients out and ready. Spread pesto on the tortilla from edge to edge. Then make a nest with the spinach to leave some room in the center. Place the deli slices in the center. Then crack egg onto the deli slices where the nest was created. Quickly place it into the oven for about 8 to 10 minutes.

Watch the tortilla and remove when the egg is fully cooked. Let it cool for about 5 minutes. When ready to eat, sprinkle salt and pepper and parmesan cheese if desired! Enjoy! 🙂
